 Panther Photo by Rachel Claire from Pexels David wakes up in the savannah of a land unknown to him.   All he has with him is his bow and quiver of lethal arrows.   His arrows have an enchantment which enables them to be the most lethal ranged weapon in existence.   The tips are glassy and obsidian-like with strikingly sharp tips.   The arrows have a red hue and have red vein-like lines running through the obsidian tips and they look to be as if they are beating like a heart.   He stares at his weapon as he remembers why he is in the savannah—to find and kill the predator that preys on animals and humans alike.   Panther is a fierce being and is quite intelligent.   He understands the language of man and inhabits the savannah to hunt those who stray too far from their homesteads.   Panther is agile and a large being capable of clearing great distances with each stealthy step.   David studies what he knows about the panther and spends m...

Week 9 Story: Hook  Photo by Quang Nguyen Vinh from Pexels Adam is an incredibly sound hunter.  He is of royal blood and is in the process of grooming so when the day comes, he will do so eloquently.  He carries with him a bow and a quiver of immaculate arrows that appear transparent and weightless.  His bow has an enchantment with abilities that enable the wielder to achieve amazing success in the art of hunting animals.  However, the bow’s ability is only available to those who are worthy of the bow’s powers.  The bow will determine if its wielder is worthy for the power because it is connected to all hunting grounds.  All lifeforms in the forests are a part of the bow and it behaves as if it has a mind of its own—capable of calculating the most lethal and precise shots.   Adam’s brother Mat is not of royal blood and is an adopted child found by his parents as an infant.  Mat is a fisherman and always feels like he and the oceans are one....

 Miracle Man  Photo by Taryn Elliott from Pexels James stepped of the badly weathered ship after what seemed like an eternity at sea.  He was approached by a man with a disturbing appearance.  Upon closer inspection it became known that this man was not just a man anymore.  He had been overtaken by something which explains why he was bruised, bleeding from self-inflicted injuries, and his wrists and ankles were rubbed almost down to the bone from the chains he wore.  James asked the man for his name and they simply replied with “we are Legion” (Historically a legion was 3,000-6,000 men).  A divine figure, James would not stand for such a thing and so he said unto the legion “leave this man, or I will cast you out myself.”  The legion stalled James and pestered him with riddles before he acted.  James ran up to the man and grabbed him by his arm and demanded the legion leave his body.  As he did so, the evil spirits erupted from the man a...

Genji  Susanoo slaying the Yamata-no-Orochi, ca. 1870, by Toyohara Chikanobu It was a clear day in the Mountains of the Old and Genji was camped by a river when he found a dress floating downstream.  His journey of tracking the beast Orochi had brought him to this remote area in the mountains so he was curious as to where this dress had come from.  Genji journeyed downstream to find a small village no more than 300 people.  Astonished by this remote village, Genji entered and was immediately taken to the Temple of the Gods.     In the Temple of the Gods, he was questioned by those who governed the town because he had the dress from the river in his possession.  As the interrogation grew more hostile, a terrible noise was shaking the village.  It was Orochi, the eight-headed serpent, the beast Genji had been tracking for some time.  Genji realized the village was in immediate danger so he told the council he was wondering about the moun...
